What are the park opening hours?
Opening hours vary throughout the year. During peak season, the park is open daily, while in off-peak months, opening times are reduced. Check our Opening Times for up-to-date information.
Do I need to book in advance?
No, you do not need to book in advance to visit Ocean Beach Pleasure Park. However, Fun Cards and group bookings can be purchased online in advance for convenience.
Is there parking available?

What is the Ocean Beach Fun Card, and how does it work?
The Ocean Beach Fun Card is your all-access pass to fun! It’s a reusable, contactless Tap & Play card that lets you enjoy rides and selected attractions without needing tokens or cash. Simply tap your card at each ride to use your credits.

Can I get a refund if I don’t use my ride credits?
💳 Credits are non-refundable, but they last a long time! Any unused ride or arcade credits will remain on your Fun Card for 18 months from the last use. That means you can use them on your next visit!

What is the Essential Companion Pass?

🔹 No need to share personal medical documents with us – verification is handled through Nimbus Disability.

Where are the toilets and baby-changing facilities?
These are located at the back of the Park. They are ran/operated by South Tyneside Council. There are also toilets in Marine Park.
Are Dogs Allowed in the Park?
Yes! Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park.
✅ Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
✅ Owners must clean up after their dogs immediately.
✅ Water bowls are available at select food and drink locations.
❌ Dogs are not permitted on rides for safety reasons.

Quasar Laser Tag FAQs
What is the age limit for Quasar?
Quasar is suitable for players aged 6 years and older. There’s no maximum age limit, so adults can join the fun too!
Do I need to book Quasar in advance?
Booking is highly recommended, especially during busy periods, for large groups, or if you want an exclusive session just for your team. You can book online or call us. Please aim to arrive 10 minutes before your booked session time for check-in and the essential safety briefing.
Will my group have the Quasar arena to ourselves?
Standard game sessions may include multiple groups playing together in the arena. If you’d like guaranteed exclusive use of the arena for only your group (up to 18 players), please ensure you select the ‘Exclusive Use’ option when booking (a set fee applies for this).
What should I wear? Are there any restrictions?
Please wear sensible, comfortable clothing and flat, closed-toe footwear (no high heels allowed). As Quasar involves physical movement in a low-light environment, participation is at your own risk; we don’t advise playing with certain health conditions (like epilepsy, heart conditions, asthma), recent injuries or if pregnant. Players under the influence of alcohol will not be admitted.
How do I pay for Quasar? Can I use my Funcard?
Yes, absolutely! You can use your Ocean Beach Funcard credits to pay for Quasar sessions using our Tap & Play system at the counter. You can top up your Funcard online or at kiosks in the park. If booking online, full payment for the session is usually required at the time of booking.
Amusement Arcade FAQs
What types of games do the arcades have?
Our arcades (including Quasar Amusements and Sands Amusements) are packed with a huge variety! You’ll find everything from classic video games and coin pushers (2p and 10p) to exciting skill games where you can win prizes directly, fun crane machines filled with plushies and collectibles, and redemption games where you collect tickets for great rewards.
How do I pay to play the arcade games?
Paying to play is easy! Most arcade machines at Ocean Beach accept both cash and Fun Cards.
For the best experience, simply load credits onto your Ocean Beach Fun Card online or at any park kiosk (using cash or card) – then tap the card reader on supported games to play. Your credits will be deducted automatically.
Whether you’re feeding coins into retro favourites or tapping to win big on modern machines, we’ve got options for everyone!
How do I collect tickets and prizes from redemption games?
It’s easy with your Funcard! Tickets you win on redemption games are automatically added straight onto your registered card – no more carrying handfuls of paper tickets. When you’re ready, visit the prize counter (located in Sands Amusements) to see your ticket balance and choose from a wide range of prizes, from sweets and small toys to larger items like games and gadgets.
What kind of prizes can I win in the arcades?
There are lots of ways to win! Grab plushies, toys, and collectibles directly from crane machines; test your aim on skill games to win larger items like headphones or speakers; or save up the tickets automatically collected on your Funcard to exchange for fantastic prizes at our redemption counter – we have everything from small treats to high-value electronics and gift cards!
Do you offer unlimited play passes for the arcades?
Yes, during weekdays in term time, we offer Arcade Wristbands. These give you timed unlimited play (e.g., 30 or 60 minutes) on a specific selection of video and novelty games (like Air Hockey, Basketball etc.). Please note these wristbands are for gameplay only (no tickets are awarded) and cannot be used on prize games (cranes, pushers), ticket redemption games, or any outdoor rides. Check availability and terms on the day.
